Pregnancy

I remember when I was in high school and I used to fantasize about being pregnant. I would picture myself blissfully eating ice cream while my husband rubbed my feet and we watched while our fetus gently poked at my barely large belly.
I also thought that I would never pass gas in front of a boy and that I would fix every meal nutritiously for my family.
Needless to say, I was not right about everything.
I have to admit that this pregnancy is better than I remember the first one being. I am not CRAZY tired like I was with Addi, but I think that working only part time is the reason for the increased energy. Plus with one kid, you really don't have the opportunity to sit around all day on a Saturday and watch movie after movie. (ahh, those were the days.)
So although I really do feel pretty good this pregnancy, lets talk about things that drive me crazy. Most of my friends are skinny little girls. I always just pretended to be a skinny little girl but it really was just all in my head. I'm not skinny. I have accepted that. What I cant accept is when SERIOUSLY skinny girls place weekly pictures on their blog about their upcoming births and how BIG they are getting when they still have their pre-prego pants totally on until birth. I look pregnant. I often want to lie to strangers when they ask how far along I am just so I don't have to admit that I am really just big. Heaven forbid you have to grunt when you pick things up at 5 months because you really have something in the way, not just kinda in the way, but really in the way.
Last week I found this show on TLC or something called Obese and Pregnant. I loved it. I suddenly felt thin and thought how I would totally be the envy of them. Just them, but that was enough for then.
I am just nervous. I know most of you out there have two or more children....so how did you do it? I am pooping myself thinking about having to nurse all night and then still act with it enough to make Addi's morning meal of hot dogs and eggs, (don't judge, she gets protein and carbs and fat all in one), anyway, how the crap am I going to do that?
The first year with Addi was just tough for me. Will this one be just as bad?
Lie to me people. Lie to me about everything. Tell me it will all be super easy and that this baby will sleep through the night, (this still does not happen with Addi thanks to an increasing number of nightmares about lizards, spiders and snakes) and when you see me tell me I look so crazy skinny that you think I may need to eat a sandwich and then we can go eat together. Deal? Thanks.

You are freaking HILARIOUS!! You'll do just fine with 2. Having 2 kids can be busy sometimes, I wont lie, but as they get older they entertain eachother (but they also make a bigger mess:( ) It's worth it though. I have learned to let a lot of things go (including sleep, which is becoming more and more rare around our house). You'll love watching them interact. Just hang in there the first 10 or so months, a girl can live without sleep, trust me;)

ps- wanna get together next month?? Maybe the week of the 14th?

Your second child will be a dream. I promise. God knows that if he keeps giving you his naughty spirit, that's you'll never want more. This baby will be fun, pleasant, happy, and although, she man not sleep through the night (Laine still doesn't...but she's better than Gwen), you won't mind as much because of how incredibly good she is during the day. Really. AND, here is some advice. I pretty much did the opposite of everything I did with Gwen. For example, Laine does NOT sleep in our bed unless Morgan is already gone to work. It will make things easier when there is only one child crying to get into bed with you. Don't give in as much, don't spoil her as much. She won't care anyway because she doesn't demand as much. AND she'll totally be entertained and in love with Addi. By the time she can crawl, she'll pretty much just follow Addi around, and you can sit on your but and watch the Bachelor, until you hear crying or something. It's awesome.

So there you have it. My novel. Am I going to see you before you have this baby or what? When are we getting together? Let's go eat together for sure okay. But I don't want a sandwich, I want a big hamburger with fries.

I hate it when I post my comment before I read through it to realize all of the mistakes I made. Don't think bad of me. Love you.

LOL loved this post. I grunt at least 30 times a day...sometimes it scares my girls and often times they ask if I'm okay :)

Did you read my post today about the "joy" (more like the realities) of being pregnant. I totally should've added grunting...

p.s. I hope you don't think I'm one of those girls that complain about being pregnant and don't look it...cause lady let me tell you I'm tall so my belly doesn't stick out but I'd rather be sticking out than have my kid nesting in my back...ouch! I'd also rather have a nice belly and not have the pregnancy spread...everywhere on my human body...cause that's how I roll :)

also, the first 2-3 months with two kids is an adjustment...at least it was for me. It's very challenging those first few months until I get into a groove. you'll do great!

I love you and your post! I feel the same way but you managed to put all in a funny blog! :) Why is it so much harder this time around? I totally wached the obese and pregnant show too....I couldn't fall asleep I HAD to stay awake till the end. I hate the girls who are picture posters too (i have one friend having twins and she looks a ton smaller than i do and she is almost done!wtf...the f stands for frik by the way) After walking around Disneyland all day yesterday I started getting contractions and feeling sick. The same thing happened at work (my 11 hour day) on friday. It took me 2 days to recover. I have come to the conclusion that I am a lot older and less fit then I have been in the past and I can't pretend that I am not pregnant anymore. I suggest that you do the same and complain and whine till your hubby picks up the slack (and the stuff that falls on the floor). That is what I intend on doing too. It's about time that tyler knows how hard a pregnancy really is and I can't fake like it's easy anymore! He has had it far to easy all the past ones. And as far as having baby #2 it is MUCH easier! You know things you didn't know before and will not make the same mistakes again. number #3 is even better!! Hopefully the same will continue with baby #4 or we are in for some trouble. :) Love you all and miss you! We need to get together before the bundles of joy arive.

Ha ha ha! Mandy! You totally kill me! I also fantisized about eating ice cream and having my feet rubbed... Oh boy was I wrong! When I was pregnant, I had girls say that they LOVED being pregnant, etc. I couldn't quit thinking about how uncomfortable and sick I was. umph!

I'm sure that you look fantastic! You always do!! I also hate the 'skinny girls' who run 10 miles a day up until they give birth, only to take a 3 week break and be out exercising again. I haven't exercised for about 2 years! ha ha I think that the only way that this belly is going to be acceptable is to be pregnant again. Lipo might be in my future! Hang in there! How much longer?

Seriously woman, you are hilarious! I too absolutely do NOT enjoy being pregnant, which is why this is going to be our last, but hang in there. I really appreceiated the honesty about grunting when you have to bend over, mine is more like a curse word! followed by much grunting.

Love ya girl, you ARE beautiful, and I can't wait to see this little one!

You make me laugh! We should get together and feed OUR pregnancy cravings and talk about the total FEAR of having 2 kids. Luv you!
