I have heard of sleep WALKING...

This blog will show how inept I am as a mother in that I simply can not put my baby to sleep, nor can she last the entire night in her crib. But I think I know why...we have a sleep crawler on our hands!
Anywhere between 11-2 Addi usually wants to come in bed with me, and I am in a coma by then so instead of losing more sleep I just bring her in with us. She falls asleep instantly and all is good, then suddenly I awake to see my baby sitting upright in the moonlight and immediately dart for the edge of the bed. Seriously, she sprint-crawls right to the edge of the bed and if I was a sound sleeper, she would be in Toronto by now! I don't know if she is even awake, and if she is....WHY???? I swear she is a nut, and I also swear that all you parents whose kids go to bed at night and stay asleep are on crack! That does NOT happen! So I am trying to decide if I should just make my bed into a giant crib or if I should stack pillows on the floor. Either way, if anyone knows of a good support group for sleep crawlers, let me know.

Unfortunately, I have no clue what you are talking about! Isn't it funny how that works! I think the pillows on the floor sound like a good idea though!
And, let's play with my blog again! I found the HTML page where you can change stuff, I've just been to chicken to try. Maybe we should just plan a time to get together!

I played the same game until I was so tired of trying to catch Carter before he rolled off, dove off, or make sure he didn't get squished that we let him scream his little lungs out in his crib 3 nights in a row for 1 hour the first night, and then less each night after that. He was 10 months old, and I needed my sleep! the sad part is, I wasn't the mom who was anxious to go and console him or get him out while hearing him cry, i just wanted him to stop crying, give it up, and go to bed! for the love of pete! Mommy needs her friggin' sleep!

I agree. Kids don't sleep through the night. I kept thinking that at any moment Gwen would start sleeping through the night, and I'd get some uninterrupted sleep. Wrong! And we also did the crying themselves to sleep thing. It worked for getting her to sleep, but not keeping her asleep. If you find the secret, let me know!

I'm the mean mom that just let them cry themselves to sleep. I would walk in, kiss thier head, lay them back down with their blanket and walk out. That way they knew I didn't forget about them but I wasn't going to get them out either. This was usually repeated at LEAST 10-15 times but life is GREAT now!!! Good luck!

Oh the joy of babies...My sister has a 17 month old that she still does this with and she just puts pillows on the floor and they sleep there when she wakes up in the night.

Garrick would do this when we would change his diaper in the middle of the night. He would roll over on the floor and crawl off. It is hilarious. Instead of getting him up and putting him in bed I would just console him or rock him to sleep and put him back down. I don't know how you survive without a full nights sleep every night.

I have been pretty spoiled. My kids generally sleep really good they just get up early. I am counting down the days till my 6 week old will sleep all night. I am so sorry for you but if it was me I think I would go for letting them cry it out and she will learn after a couple nights what she needs to do! GOOD LUCK!!

Cannon was similar when I pulled him into bed with us. He doesnt care if he falls off the bed. I have caught him falling off the bed by 1 ankel, and he thinks its funny. Thats when I decided to move him to his crib- and to be strong. It took close to a week, but it works. He sleep crawls in his crib, but he usually ends up on the opposite side of the crib. He wont wake me at all (I just stuck with my guns and it worked-lol). Cannon was seriously the worlds worst sleeper, but I decided that it would be better for all 3 of us if he moved his butt to his crib, and stayed there :) Does she have a lovie??

Sleep Nazi here! My kids sleep from 7-7 at 4 months old... I'm so mean, I'm Hitler, or so Milli says! But it's worth it, now I can rome the house in the middle of the night undisturbed!

Hi Miss Mandy!

I stumbled on to your page through Laura's. Addison is getting so big! She is absolutely adorable! I wish I had some sleeping advice for you but I don't. My son Ryker is the same way but instead of falling out of my bed, he falls out of his loft bed! What was I thinking buying him a loft bed you ask? I have no idea!

Hope all is well with you guys. You have a darling family!

Mandy,
You are really making this harder than it needs to be...Just build crib bars (6-10ft) around you and Ron's bed. If miss Addi needs it in her bed for protection then obviously she'll need them in yours. :) You could even put in a door if you didn't want a trampoline in your room. Just an idea from a single childless gal. :)

Okay, lady it's time to post. I feel I've been very patient, but come on! Get your lab top and try and kill 2 birds with one stone already! Go poop and post at the same time. It's been over 2 weeks.
